Who we are
Our website address is https://airportmix.com (“AirportMix”, “we”, “us”).
What this policy covers
This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to airportmix.com and any pages we operate that link to this policy.
Cookies & consent
We use cookies and similar technologies for site functionality, analytics, and affiliate attribution. You can manage your consent preferences at any time using the control below:
Essential cookies are required for the site to work (e.g., security, load balancing). Non-essential cookies (e.g., analytics, marketing) are used only with your consent where required by law.
Information we collect
- Usage data: pages viewed, searches performed, referring URLs, device/browser info, approximate location (country/city).
- Technical data: IP address (may be truncated/anonymized), user agent, cookie identifiers, consent signals.
- Content you provide: comments you submit and the data shown in the comment form.
Comments
When visitors leave comments, we collect the data shown in the comments form, the visitor’s IP address, and browser user agent to help spam detection. An anonymized hash of your email may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you use it. See the Gravatar privacy policy at automattic.com/privacy. After approval, your profile image is publicly visible in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract any location data from images on the site.
Embedded content from other sites
Articles may include embedded content (e.g., videos, maps). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if you visited those websites and may collect data about you, use cookies, and monitor your interaction with that content.
Affiliate disclosure & outbound links
AirportMix is a flight search helper. We do not sell tickets. When you click “See Deals” or similar links, we may redirect you to partners such as Aviasales (via Travelpayouts) or other travel providers. If you book, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Our partners may set cookies to attribute sales and to provide analytics on referrals. Their use of data is governed by their own privacy policies.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used (e.g., pages visited, events like button clicks). GA4 may collect IP addresses (with IP anonymization features), device identifiers, and cookie data. Data is processed by Google as our analytics provider. Learn more at Google’s partner policy. You can opt out via our consent tool or by using the GA opt-out add-on.
Cookies used by WordPress
- Comment convenience: if you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies for one year.
- Login/session cookies: set when you log in (if applicable) and last up to two weeks with “Remember Me”.
- Editor cookies: an additional cookie may be saved in your browser when you edit/publish an article, containing only the post ID and expiring after 1 day.
How we use your information
- Provide and improve our site and search experience.
- Measure performance and detect/prevent fraud or abuse.
- Attribute affiliate referrals and comply with legal obligations.
Sharing your information
- Service providers: hosting, analytics, security, and consent management providers process data on our behalf under contracts.
- Affiliate/partner sites: when you click out to a partner, that partner becomes an independent controller of any data you provide on their site.
- Legal: we may disclose information to comply with law or protect our rights.
How long we retain your data
- Comments: kept indefinitely to recognize and approve follow-ups automatically.
- Registered users: profile information is stored as long as the account exists (if accounts are enabled).
- Analytics: GA4 retention is configured according to our analytics settings (typically 14 months or less where available).
Your rights
Depending on your location (e.g., EEA/UK), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior processing). You can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Analytics and CDN/hosting services may process data in the EU and/or other countries subject to appropriate safeguards.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including HTTPS, access controls, and limited retention. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Children
AirportMix is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
